Environmental History

My research centers on the history of how humans perceive, alter or manage the natural world, and how the natural world alters the way people live and think. Research methodologies in environmental history include interviews, analyses of cultural and natural archives, as well as field and laboratory observations.

  • Environmental effects of war

  • Malaria control with pesticides

Interdisciplinary

  • Cooperation with ecologists, evolutionary biologists, palaeobotanists, environnmentalists
