Research

Research in plant sciences in Switzerland covers a broad range of fields. From molecular dimensions to ecosystems, from basic to applied science - all researchers share the same interest - finding answers to the many open questions regarding plants related to plant breeding, conservation, ecology, genetics, health physiology and systematics.

Where some groups focus on chemical compounds, single genes, species, populations or ecosystems, others investigate the complex interactions that arise among plants or between plants and other organisms. The researchers work in laboratories or on field sites in Switzerland or somewhere else in the world, e.g. tropical forests in Borneo.

Each research portfolio on our website presents a group leader from one of the three regional networks within the Swiss Plant Science Web. Together the portfolios display the broad range of research in plant sciences. The portfolios contain references of the latest publications of each research group and also allow searching for specific expert knowledge in the three regional networks.
