Sustainable Plant Systems
The online learning material Sustainable Plant Systems aims at building knowledge through inquiry-based learning. Four major subject areas with a total of 12 topics that are covered by SPSW researchers have been chosen for this learning material:
1 Biotic interactions
- Induced systemic resistance and priming (Mauch-Mani Group, UniNe)
- Inducible root defenses (Turlings Group, UniNe)
- Plant innate immunity (Boller Group, UniBas)
2 Nutrient management
- Nitrogen supply in conservation agriculture (Frossard Group, ETHZ)
- Arbuscular mycorrhizas in soil nutrient management (Gamper Group, ETHZ / van der Heijden Group, ART)
- Phosphorus recycling (Oberson Group, ETHZ)
3 Plant breeding
- Abiotic stresses during corn development (Walter Group, ETHZ)
- Wheat resistance against fungal pathogens (Keller Group, UZH)
- Iron biofortification of rice (Bhullar Group, ETHZ)
- Orphan crops of Africa: Tef improvement (Tadele Group, UniBe)
4 Climate change
- Temperature adaption and acclimation (Shimizu Group, UZH)
- Role of vascular plants in methane emissions from soil (G. Singh Bhullar, ETHZ)
