SPSW E-Learning
E-learning offers interactive, multimedia teaching and learning material anywhere and anytime. The Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center (PSC) will develop two e-learning courses for the Swiss Plant Science Web (SPSW), Sustainable Plant Systems and Biodiversity Informatics, which will be integrated in the MSc and PhD curricula of the eight SPSW institutions. About Dr. Anett Hofmann
Anett Hofmann studied Agricultural Sciences at the University of Halle-Wittenberg (Germany) with a focus on Soil Science and Organic Agriculture. She completed her PhD at the Department of Geography, University of Zurich in 2009 on the subject of soil organic matter degradation in agricultural long-term field experiments. She has worked on different E-learning projects (Soil Science, Environmental Chemistry, Plant Nutrition) since 2007 and is especially interested in visualizing learning content with interactive figures
The course Sustainable Plant Systems discusses important research topics in plant sciences in the context of sustainability, e.g.:
- Plant defenses against pathogens
- Conservation agriculture
- Role of plants in soil methane emissions
Anett Hofmann is responsible for the development and implementation of this course.
